Frequently Asked Questions

  • Restore Mama Wellness is an out-of-network provider with all insurance plans, which means payment is made at the time of your visit.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursment. FSA and HSA cards are also accepted.

  • No—Virginia is a direct access state, which means you can see a physical therapist without a referral.

If needed, I can collaborate with your provider to ensure you’re getting the best possible care.

  • All sessions are one-on-one and typically 60 minutes.

This allows time to fully understand your body, address your concerns, and create meaningful, lasting change.

  • Your first visit is a comprehensive, one-on-one evaluation.

We’ll talk through your symptoms, history, and goals, and assess how your body is moving and functioning as a whole. This may include a pelvic floor assessment (if appropriate), which is always discussed with you beforehand and completely optional.

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s going on and a personalized plan to start making progress right away.

  • There’s no “perfect” time—starting at any point during pregnancy can be beneficial.

Many women choose to come in during the second or third trimester to prepare their body for delivery, learn how to manage pressure, and feel more confident going into postpartum recovery.

  • YES—this is one of the best times to come in.

Even if you’re not having symptoms, your body has gone through significant changes during pregnancy and delivery. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you:

    • reconnect with your core and pelvic floor

    • learn how to properly manage pressure during exercise

    • reduce your risk of leaking, pain, or injury

    • feel confident returning to running, lifting, and workouts

Many women are “cleared” at 6 weeks postpartum, but that doesn’t always mean the body is fully ready for higher-level activity.

Coming in proactively helps you build a strong foundation so you can return to exercise feeling supported, not unsure.

Think of it as setting your body up to move well and feel strong as you return to the activities you love.

  • If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to talk through your symptoms and help you decide if this is a good fit for you.
